the sword of the spirit

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: – Ephesians 6:17

Why does Satan hate the Word of God? It is offensive to him. It is supernatural and destroys his lies.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heartHebrews 4:12
Jesus is the Word of God, who became flesh.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made – John 1:1-3
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truthJohn 1:14
So, in the current pandemic of where we find ourselves, how can we fight back?
It is through the use of the sword of the spirit (the word of God), prayer, fastings, fellowship. There are powers in these faithful acts that our frail minds cannot see, and all the time it is expressing faith in God our Saviour, and we are depending upon Him for our strength, and not giving into the fear of the world. We cannot do any lasting works through our flesh, it must be through the Holy Spirit within. This is why we must be Children of God. Too much emphasis on solutions against Covid are coming through the flesh, and not the Spirit. The only reason why the evil is not prevailing in its entirety is because the Holy Spirit within believers is in the world restraining the evil. When the restrainer is taken out of the way, the anti christ one world leader will be revealed.
For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,2 Thessalonians 2:7-9
We must be born again into the family of God, and God made this simple even for a small child to understand. It comes through faith in the work of Jesus Christ, our redeemer. Contrary to the popular belief that religion can save a person from hell to heaven, this is false and a lie of Satan, because Satan doesn’t want anyone to be saved by the blood of Christ, and all of our righteousnesses done through our current sinful nature are as filthy rags before a Holy God (Isaiah 64:6). Jesus’ death was sufficient to please God the Father, and yet Jesus is risen. He is a personal awesome God who comforts us and guides us when we yield to Him. We are so precious to Him, and I want people to know it, yet when the word ‘God’ or ‘Jesus Christ’ is mentioned it’s automatically assumed that I am religious. I am a sinner saved by the grace of God. I saw my need and sought the solution by trusting on the finished work of Christ. No amont of works is keeping me saved, nor can I lose my salvation when I sin, which I will. We all do, if we are honest with ourselves, because there are sins of omission that are good works that we know we should do, but do not do them. The law of God was given to show us how far we fall short of God’s perfection and to receive Jesus Christ as our Saviour, who is perfect and can impute unto us His very righteousness.
If you were the only person to ever exist in this world, know this Biblical truth that Jesus who is God our Saviour would still have died for you. He wants no one to perish, yet pride can be a huge stumbling block for humankind to see their sin and the solution for sin. This is why religion appeals to so many, and why Biblical Christianity is so opposed.
Contrary to the popular teachings of Lordship Salvation and Calvinism, who teach the doctrines of men for salvation, and not the Biblical plan of salvation, they condemn others who practice sin and yet fail to see this sin in themselves. Even Paul spoke of his struggle with sin in Romans 7. Honesty before God is pleasing to Him and shows us how much we fall short of His holiness and how wonderful it is to know that we have a Saviour who is faithful, even when we are not.
if we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself2 Timothy 2:13
Salvation is a gift of God, and the gifts and callings of God are without repentance.
For the gifts and calling of God are without repentanceRomans 11:29
This particular repentance in Romans 11:29 is the greek 278 ametameletos, which means irrevocable. It is also found in 2 Corinthians 7:10.
When we are born again into God’s family, the sin nature remains, yet God seals us with the Holy Spirit and this is the new nature that cannot sin. Faith in Christ gives us God’s imputed righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21). The old nature is an evil and corrupt as ever. Sanctification, growing in grace, is a daily process of deliverance, but it requires our free will to walk with the Lord. It is not immediate, it requires practice. This is where false teachers cause so many children of God to stumble when they preach anything other than the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. They teach a subtle system of works that appeals to the flesh nature, and many people are accepting these false messages. Others believe that if they don’t live a righteous life that they will lose their salvation, because this is what their pastor or teaches. Paul calls their false gospel messages an accursed message.
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursedGalatians 1:6-9
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:1 Corinthians 15;1-4
What a wonderful assurance of salvation we have when we put our faith in Jesus Christ.

He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God1 John 5:10-13

Having the knowledge that we possess eternal life right now, we can come to the conclusion that we have a flesh nature that doesn’t easily yield to God, and yet a new nature (the Holy Spirit within) that does not sin and wants to please Him. There is a constant battle within, but I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord that salvation is not by works but by faith in His finished work through his death, burial and resurrection. It is finished (John 19:30). Jesus offered one sacrifice for sins for ever (Hebrews 10:12).
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boastEphesians 2:8-9
If we could be saved by the law then Jesus did not have to die in our place, yet He was a substitute for us, the Lamb of God, the sinless Son of God who died in our place and rose again to positionally sanctify us before God the Father for ever.

26 to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the lawRomans 3:26-28

The Word of God says that none are righteous. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Sin leads to death, which makes every single human being ever to live guilty before God. We have broken his holy laws, not because we do this on purpose but becuase we are born with an inherited sin nature from Adam.
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming1 Corinthians 15:20-23
Jesus Christ rose from the dead proving that life after death exists, and eternal life is through Him and Him alone.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by meJohn 14:6
Jesus is the Word of God. Jesus will destroy the armies of Satan with the Sword of the spirit, which is the Word of God.
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of GodRevelation 19:13
First and foremost, become a child of God and believe the gospel through simple faith: Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:1 Corinthians 15;1-4
You can know that you have eternal life because of the promise of Jesus, and now we can choose to do good works as servants of the most high, works that will be rewarded at the Judgment seat of Christ. The sword of the spirit is a weapon to use daily. Speak it with faith. This is why I use many scriptures in my blog posts, because it is the power of God, will accomplish its purpose, and will not return until Him void (Isaiah 55:11).
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in themEphesians 2:10
This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men – Titus 3:8
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 meekness, temperance: against such there is no law Galatians 5:22-23
Good works through the new nature will earn us rewards at the Judgement seat of Christ
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad 2 Corinthians 5:10
The sword of the spirit can be used to remind ourselves of God’s truth. There is such emphasis today on meditation and mindfulness, but it is better is to meditate on the Word of God, reminding ourselves of His promises like eternal salvation. Be refreshed by drinking in the milk of the Word. Use it to refresh the mind into peace and security and away from the fear of this current world system. When the enemy sends fiery darts of doubt, use the sword of the spirit to rebuke the liar and rejoice that you are an eternal Child of God.
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 19 and for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, – Ephesians 6:10-19
Of course, watch and share useful information to counteract the lies of the COVID-19 mainstream narrative, but as a Christian keep your eyes on opportunities to share the Word of God with this lost and dying world. People are wearing the mask because they fear death, so provide the solution in the Lord Jesus Christ. People are taking the vaccine, most probably, to try to return the world to normalcy, but they have been lied to. We know that the liars continue to lie until they achieve their purpose, because the father of these lying polititians and scientists is Satan. There is a spirit behind their lies and it is Satan.
Pray the scriptures with faith. This is a prayer I pray daily.

Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvestLuke 10:2
Jesus will destroy the nations who come against him at his appearing with a sharp sword, and this sword is the Word of God. Just imagine what we can accomplish for God by sharing His Word in this current climate. Let’s not lose heart. Once we are saved, we can never be lost so let’s not be idle in our faith, but bold to share the gospel to a lost and dying world, to serve the Most High God, and to bring him Glory and Honour.

  1. Thanks for the article, and for this website, and all the good news you are posting here.

I am looking at this bookmark I have since a child of the Armor of God, based on Eph. 6 : 11-17, and nowhere does it include a face covering! Imagine going into the battle in the heat of day with breathing restricted… it’s nonsense. God is breath, is Spirit. I can understand an adult who gives into fear and ignorance, but an adult who forces a child to be masked makes me angry, because a child cannot understand what is going on, nor can resist their parent.

Reading Mt. 23 the other day I recognized the clear denunciation of the government, politicians, media, in Our Savior’s denunciation of the pharisees; they lay heavy burdens on the people, but do not remove them; they widen their phylacteries; they lock the kingdom of heaven and do not allow entrance to those who wish to enter. The burdens are the massive lockdowns and shutdowns, fines, arrests, crushing of peaceful protests. The public signs are the political theater of “social distancing” in the number which falls short of the perfection of 7, and the ignominous face coverings, which the governors and presidents don’t adhere to their own emergency, executive orders, but demand the people comply. And the obvious forced closure of churches by the state’s law, not the law of God, where the people submit to deprivation of worship and public singing, those simply singing in their homes let alone in a church are raided and arrested. In short they are hypocrites who take long vacations but demand ten year prison sentences for ordinary travelers.

But most of all all of the masks are plain creepy to me. It’s disgusting as well when people are so eager to receive “the vaccine” but have gone months, years, without receiving the Bread of Life in the excuse of public health and safety – where have we heard that before? We should all be eager to attain eternal life, not to extend our earthly lives, so that for me is the clearest sign of what’s behind this.

Thank you for your fabulous enriching wisdom, Victor. We sure have some desperate wicked people ruling over us, and some days my flesh doesn’t want to pray for them, so I need to feed the new nature and this is the nature that cares and loves others and can then pray for our wicked leaders. Yes, they are hypocrites, liars, and care only about money. They may have all the money in the world, but without the Lord Jesus they are impoverished and heading for destruction.

I hate the masks. Shopping is such an uncomrtable experience. I suffer anxiety myself and I dare not even look at anyone, except the checkout person. I just keep my head down while everyone in a mask stares at me thinking whatever curse words they are thinking. Who would have thought that showing our full faces would be so offensive to the masked ones. They just think that they are in control, but I am seeing the damage that the masks are doing. A shop I attend regularly – he is becoming slow and confused. Really alert before. Some neighbours are looking lost and confused, yet I’ve posted exemption cards to all my neighbours so they have the freedom to choose not to damage themselves, but I think most just don’t want the confrontation, when it happens from the pushy self-righteous maskers.

My sister’s young son was refused entry to school for not wearing a mask, even though he’s exempt. Just because he provided no card or proof, they denied him access to his education. They are making the rules up as they go along, just like the Government. What a sad sad society we are living in, and now Satan is after the children.

We need the Lord more than ever, and yet still people want it their own way.
