You heard it here first. TV advertising on main roads will lead to tragedy. According to the road laws, is it not a criminal offence to use a mobile phone while driving? This includes physically texting, physically answering a call, or whatever else?
Is it not a criminal offence to not have 100 percent focus on the road whilst driving?
The answer is yes to both, or that is what I was taught at the time, and learning to drive is not cheap either so, and a car is a weapon that is not to be abused.
Bizarely, I am seeing these TV advertising screens appearing beside the main roads, and whilst it may not distract me away from keeping my eyes fixed on the road for safe driving, there is a time and a place for these adverts and it’s not on the roadside. It’s damnright dangerous and I am shocked that this is being allowed, it is just a matter of time before TV advertising on main roads will lead to tragedy.
Who are the guilty parties who will be responsible for manslaughter? Alight Media, Clear Channel, and no doubt there are countless others. The Advertising Standards Agency are allowing these districtions so THEY too are culpable for manslaughter, obviously clearly desenstised people, and are most consumers putting in complaints about having to see this filth day in day out…ON THE ROAD WHILST DRIVING?
These selfish companies make me so angry. Put the video screens up in homes and in cinemas, just not on the main roads where drivers will be distracted into possible tragedy. I just hope when that tragedy happens that those companies are sued for enough money to push them out of business.
What on earth will Alight Media and Clear Channel say in order to defend themselves from the clear fact that the eyes are attracted to light, advertising is full of lights that attract the eyes and advertisers know this, and yet any distraction from keeping your eyes on the road can put yourself, your passengers, and other drivers at risk of injury or death. It’s madness. There is enough evidence out there? Will they pay Google to remove all knowledge of the eyes not being attracted to light, or the TV? It wouldn’t surprise me the filth of these greedy selfish media agencies.
I made a complaint to the Advertising Standards Agency on Saturday after seeing Alight Media screens going on on a main road that is 40mph. I am making an early prediction that I will hear nothing back from these waste of space ‘compliance’ agencies. It’s just wrong to place non urgent media advertising on the road side that WILL distract drivers, or else it would not be there. TV is a hypnotising tool, after all. What do you think. Do you agree that these media advertising screens should be away from main roads as they are a clear distraction to drivers and put drivers and passengers and other drivers at the risk of injury or death?
Obviously, the ASA in allowing these advertising agencies to display screens on the main roads are hypocrites because it is promoting dangerous driving. They should be held fully responsible for their lack of care toward the people they are supposed to serve.
