The film, One by One was Rik Mayall’s final film. This is a short description of the film on IMDB.
A cafe worker is violently jolted from her day-to-day existence when offered the startling revelation that this world may be on the brink of destruction, revolution, or both. Approximately 88 minutes in length. It has been removed off YouTube, and I had saved the movie but I’ve been asked to remove this because of copyright issues.
The only downside to this movie is that it provides no solution to death. However, there is a solution to death and it is by the finished work – the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We can most certainly know right now where we are going after we die, as Jesus says that those who believe in Him have everlasting life. Those who reject that salvation is only by Jesus Christ are teaching an accursed gospel. Paul declares these people under a curse.
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed – Galatians 1:6-9
Salvation is everything of God, and nothing of man’s works or righteousnesses. This is what religion gets wrong, which is why ALL religions are of the devil, as they are focusing on man’s righteousnesses to get right with God. It doesn’t work that way. We are sinners plain and simple.
Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah – Psalm 39:5But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away – Isaiah 64:6
We have all broken God’s Holy laws, and to go and live in His Holy Heaven, we must be as perfect as He is. No one is if we are honest with ourselves. This is why Jesus came, to do that for us which we can not do for ourselves. Biblical salvation is all of God, and He gives it to us as a free gift, which we must receive by faith in Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ alone, apart from human works.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should boast – Ephesians 2:8-9
God wants us to live forever with Him, which is why Jesus Christ came. He died on the cross for us, dying a death that He didn’t deserve so that, by faith, our sins could be washed away forever, and we could live forever with Him. No one needs to go to an eternal hell, but it is man’s rejection of Jesus Christ that unfortunately seals them to an everlasting destruction.
