Dear.....

I am writing to you regarding my son who is due to start school in September 2020. He has been very happy with [name of teacher] class and is now looking forward to returning and starting [number] class.

Thanks to you and the other staff for all you have done to make his journey there so far a happy one. The health and safety of my child, school staff, and other children and families is my sincere priority. However, looking at the COVID-19 Response Plan for the safe and sustainable reopening of Primary and Special Schools and legislation S.I. No. 296/2020 - Health Act 1947 (Section 31A – Temporary Restrictions) (Covid-19) (Face Coverings in Certain Premises and Businesses) Regulations 2020 - I have some concerns that I would like to address in writing before term commences.

For UK parents, here is the Coronavirus legislation for face coverings: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/791/contents/made

In the first instance, I do not consent to vaccines for ......? I will make clear my position formally and in writing because there are plans for massive vaccination against flu. I do not feel that schools are the place for medical processes to take place, and l only allow trusted healthcare professionals to conduct medical procedures on my son.

Therefore, I do not consent to my son receiving any Coronavirus testing at school. If he develops symptoms of this illness, or any other, I will keep him at home, as l would with any other illness, and arrange any necessary testing or treatment myself.

I also do not consent to my son using hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizers contain potent chemicals that permeate the skin and enter the bloodstream, as well as being implicated in causing dermatitis and destroying vital beneficial bacteria on the skin essential for maintaining a strong immune system. I do not consent to this product being used on my son for any reason, and only consent to him washing his hands with conventional soap and water. I can equip my son with a container with his own soap and towel.

If the school intends to temperature-check the children, I do not consent to my son being tested at the forehead with an infrared thermometer gun. I am not comfortable with the psychological connotations of my son repeatedly having a gun pointed at his head, and there may be short or long-term safety issues with aiming this instrument directly at a developing brain.

In order to meet you half way, I will agree to purchase a thermometer and put it in my child's bag. He can put it under his tongue any time it is required and give a much more accurate temperature as it is inside the body and not scanned. Therefore, I only consent to my son being temperature checked at the wrist.

My son and I also do not give our consent to participating in the HSE track and trace scheme, and do not want our contact details passed over to the HSE or any other agency for the purposes of tracking and tracing. Any agency having or using our data without my consent is in breach of the GDPR and therefore illegal.

I wish to make clear the legal position on masks, which is that those suffering hidden disabilities are exempt, and under the Equalities Disabilities Discrimination Act, it is illegal to ask someone if they have a hidden disability, or what it is. If the school wants to mandate masks, it would be illegal to ask any pupil why they were not wearing one. It would also be incumbent on the school to instruct all pupils and staff on the law regarding masks and exemptions, to ensure nobody without a mask is discriminated against.

As a result, I have serious concerns for the mental health and emotional development of my own child and the other children at the school.

Can you please forward me a copy of any risk assessments you have carried out? Also, I require answers to the following:

1.      Pertaining to the risk of emotional damage that the Covid-19 measures you are putting in place for children may cause.

2.     I would also like a risk assessment carried out in the school setting while a student is wearing a mask for school duration hours. How it affects their breathing, concentration, and performance.

3.     Also health risk assessment how it doesnÕt risk their health and lungs and immune systems.

4.     In addition, I would also like to ask for a risk assessment on how social distance will affect child's mental health. I would like to avoid situations in which my son may become anxious, depressed, etc.

Please reply to this letter at your earliest convenience acknowledging my concerns and agreeing that my son will not be subject to any measures I have not expressly offered my consent for.

Thank you for your time.

Yours sincerely,

Parents: [names] I, ÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉ.., do not consent to receiving any vaccinations for my son / daughter ÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉ.. I understand the risks and benefits of vaccinations and I do not consent to receiving any. If he will be vaccinated without a parent present, it will have been under duress, and therefore illegal.
